Micro-mobility wins in the city.

There are in fact 86 services present in one third of the 110 provincial capitals;

in the lead Milan which has 14. Among scooters (over 27 thousand), bicycles (35 thousand) and scooters (3 million trips in 2019), there are 65 thousand 'light' vehicles shared in Italy.

This is the photograph of shared electric micro-mobility taken by the National Observatory of Sharing Mobility in its new national report.

"This micro-mobility that is gaining ground in cities all over the world - observes Raimondo Orsini of the sharing mobility Observatory - is in clear contrast to the car market which offers ever larger, more powerful and bulky vehicles in the parking lot. interesting is the possibility of integrating electric scooters, shared bicycles and scooters with public transport and pedestrian and cycling, with a consequent lower use of owned cars for urban travel, which can reduce transport pollution by 20-30% " .

After Milan, among the cities with more services there are Rome with 11 and Turin with 7. In general, the most widespread service is station-based bikesharing which is located in 26 cities, followed by shared scooters with 38 services in 17 cities, from bikesharing with 13 services in 12 cities, and by scootersharing present only in 4 cities.

The latter service also marks growth this year: shared vehicles increased from 150 in 2015 to over 5 thousand in 2019, with an increase of 126% compared to 2018;

of these over 95% are electric.

In 2019 there are 10 services managed by 5 operators, 4 of which have fully electric fleets.

Shared scooter rentals reached 3 million, tripling the value recorded in the previous year.

Registrations have also increased, by 174% compared to 2018. Sharing scooters, a service that landed in Italy at the end of 2019, are establishing themselves and spreading in recent weeks: between December 2019 and September 2020, shared scooters are passed from 4,900 to 27,150, a value that - it is explained - is "destined to grow in the near future. Active services have gone from 12 to 38 in this same period of time. Scooter-sharing, like bikesharing, is the service of micro-mobility more on the rise in the post lockdown period ".

Also for bikesharing, 2019 was a positive year: it is "the most widespread service in Italy and the fleet available is almost 35 thousand bikes, 15% of which are electric. Compared to 2018, registrations increased by 60%. ".
