A doctor is said to have raped two patients in Bielefeld.
The prosecutor and the police announced that arrest warrants were issued against the 32-year-old assistant doctor at the Evangelical Clinic Bethel on suspicion of a crime in three cases.
The man is said to have first anesthetized the two patients in July and September 2019 and then performed sexual acts on them.
The accused is said to have filmed the acts.
According to local media, the man was arrested on Monday.
According to the WDR, the man was initially investigated for suspicious drug administration to patients.
He is said to have administered funds for an MRI examination, although these were not intended for this according to the applicable guidelines.
As a result of the investigation, the doctor is said to have already resigned from the clinic.
Clinic wants to contribute to quicker education
The authorities had started investigations against the doctor after a woman reported a criminal complaint.
The Bielefeld Police Headquarters set up a seven-person investigation committee.
According to its own information, there are 1755 beds at the Bielefeld clinic and 4600 people are employed in the hospital.
As the WDR reported, the managing director of the Evangelical Clinic Bethel, Matthias Ernst, expressed his condolences to the victims and injured after the incident became known.
The clinic will do everything possible to contribute to a quick clarification.
