The Covid-19 pandemic does not stop Ecomondo-Key Energy, the largest Italian exhibition of the green economy, at the Rimini Fair.

The event returns again this year, from 3 to 6 November, with a whole series of security measures.

But 2020 is not just the year of Covid.

It is also that of the Green New Deal of the European Union.

Aid to countries for the pandemic will also have to be largely directed to the green economy and the fight against the climate crisis.

Ecomondo-Key Energy, with its commercial stands and conferences, is a candidate this year as a laboratory for strategies for the green rebirth of Europe.

The 2020 edition was presented this morning with a web conference (also a novelty of Covid).

This year, in the pavilions there will be maximum attention to safety and spacing, even if there will be no limits on entry.

But above all, Ecomondo-Key Energy 2020 will be "hybrid": partly in presence, partly virtual.

The conferences will all also be in streaming.

Foreign operators who will not be able to come to Italy due to the pandemic will be able to contact the exhibitors on the new web platform, which the Rimini Fair will put into operation for the occasion.

The companies exhibiting this year were quite a lot less than last year: 1420, 70% of those in 2019, which was a record year.

As part of Ecomondo-Key Energy, the General States of the Green Economy will be held as every year, promoted by 66 organizations of the green economy, gathered by the Green Economy Council.

"The EU Green Deal is a historic opportunity for Italy to change the development model - said Edo Ronchi, president of the Sustainable Development Foundation -. The green economy is taking shape as a key to the use of enormous funds. allocated for the pandemic. The States-General must contribute to developing this perspective: renewable energy, circular economy, sustainable mobility and agriculture. Either there is a development of the green economy, or the recovery after the pandenmia will be weaker ".

The president of the scientific committee of Key Energy, Gianni Silvestrini, illustrated the novelties of the green economy on show in Rimini: "There will be a great deal of attention on agro-photovoltaics, which combines agricultural production with the production of clean energy. of offshore wind power: there are projects for Emilia Romagna, Sicily and Sardinia. Finally, hydrogen: for the steel industry, but also for heavy transport, such as ships and airplanes ".
