After video, music and audiobooks, Amazon is adding a new service to its collection of subscription entertainment: video games.
The e-commerce giant unveiled Thursday evening the Luna platform, which is based on Amazon's cloud, AWS.
Thanks to the technology known as cloud gaming, the subscriber can launch the latest video games without prior download, or need to own a powerful machine dedicated to this hobby.
Luna will work on any computer connected at very high speed as well as on smartphones, tablets and televisions via the Fire TV box.
"We designed Luna to make it easy to play on devices consumers already own and love."
, said in a press release Marc Whitten, vice president at Amazon Entertainment Devices and Services.
US Internet users can apply to be the first testers of the service.
