Fatal accident: emergency services at the scene of the accident near Uelzen

A car driver with her small car was hit and killed by a regional train at a level crossing near Uelzen in Lower Saxony.
A police spokesman said she drove past the closed half-barriers of the transition on Thursday evening.
The vehicle was rammed by the train and dragged along for several hundred meters despite emergency braking.
According to the police, the driver died in the vehicle wreck.
The driver was in shock.
According to initial findings, there were more than 20 passengers on the train who were uninjured.
Because of the salvage work, rail traffic on the route was initially stopped.
