First snow on the Parma Apennines, wind damage

 - The wind was the number one enemy in the province of Parma in the latest weather alert reported by the Civil Protection.

The precipitations were not of a violent nature even if the first snow fell during the night on the Apennine passes: about five centimeters above 900 meters.

Throughout the province, however, the firefighters and technicians of the municipal administrations had to intervene for dozens of broken branches but also for several trees that fell to the ground.

The most serious episode in the park of the Citadel in Parma where a large plant fell into a meadow without luckily hitting people or things.

Snow on Cortina mountains and first cold in the plains

 - A taste of winter on the mountains of Veneto, with the snow that made its appearance last night in Cortina and more consistently on the Dolomite passes.

A few centimeters thick on the passes, such as Falzarego, and a thermometer below zero.

The peaks of the Ampezzo valley appear all white, a consequence of the cold eruption that accompanied yesterday's bad weather in Veneto.

Even in the cities of the plains, the temperature change was sudden: the minimums fell close to 10 degrees, for what is the first cold episode of the new season.

True cold instead in the mountains: Cortina recorded 2 degrees, values of 4-5 degrees below zero at altitude.

No snow but a strong hail on the Asiago plateau.

The farmers - explains Coldiretti - were not taken aback by the autumn turnaround, and in the mountain areas where the snow arrived today they had already provided for the transhumance of the cattle in time, freeing the huts and returning to the farms.
