"Io ti cercherò"

is a powerful and dramatic TV series set in Rome, where a former policeman Valerio (

Alessandro Gassmann

) investigates with the help of a former colleague (Maya Sansa) what appears to be the suicide of his son Ettore, rediscovering the sense of fatherhood and finding the strength to start over.

Directed by Gianluca Maria Tavarelli.

Many night shots, shot between Rome, Ostia and Anzio, the photography by Marco Pieroni is spectacular.

It arrives on the flagship of the public service from

Monday 5 October in 4 early evenings at 21.25

(and previewed on RaiPlay on Saturday 3 and Sunday 4).

A Rai Fiction-Publispei co-production.

"It is a very intentional story - underlines Gassmann - which struck me deeply, because I am the father of a 20-year-old and because in society there is very little mutual listening. I will try to talk about the lack of dialogue, with imperfect characters. on the shoulders the pain of the character was an important decision for me. "

Above all, we see the outskirts of the capital which "like all the outskirts of large cities, says Gassmann, resemble each other, living a situation of great unease even more after the Covid emergency".

A strong story, which relies on the choices, sometimes random, of life and on the maze of regrets of a policeman padrex with a complicated past, who closed himself up, but, on hearing the news of the suicide of his son Ettore, decides to investigate that sudden death and in too many ways inexplicable for a boy like his, engaged in social work.

"A difficult human journey with the weight of a past made up of many mistakes and full of guilt", says the actor again speaking of the series that has many night shots.

Ettore's case is quickly dismissed as suicide, but Valerio (Gassmann) is not convinced.

He is almost on the verge of accepting his pain by hiding forever in an empty and painful silence, when Sara (Maya Sansa), past love and ex-colleague, calls him to tell him that she also does not believe that Ettore has chosen to die, that things do not add up.

Valerio decides to return to Rome to discover the truth about the young man's death.

He is hosted by Gianni (Andrea Sartoretti), his brother with whom he has not had relations for years, also a policeman, who lives in the suburbs with his wife.

Sara helps him in the investigation and becomes his point of reference.

Gassmann, who with his film Non Odiare was very positively received at the Venice Film Festival, continues: "I'm 55, I've made a lot of films, a lot of television, a lot of theater, now I want to make characters suitable for my age and to immerse myself in roles that have the courage to tell stories that I share and that I would like to see on TV or at the cinema. In I will seek you the topic is the non-communication between parents and children ".

Of course, he jokes, "we shot a scene of pure fantasy, when I run after a young boy and join him, but in reality for any man over 50 this would be impossible".

Great expectations for Gassman also for the third season of I Bastardi di Pizzofalcone whose shooting after the lokdown resumed in Naples.

Tavarelli

emphasizes that "I particularly care about I Will See You, because there is something very intimate about me and that of all the people who worked there. Inside this story, a heart beats fast, we talk about the mistakes that are made in the family, we hear yellow, but also the meaning of existence. Our protagonist is 50 years old, it is the moment for many of us, I speak for myself too, when you begin to understand how it went, if you made it, what are the you are wrong and if you have time to fix it. For some life has gone well, for others not. But it is not always a matter of faults. Even Gassmann, who is a father, but is also a son, like me, has taken a long time in this series ".

Maya Sansa,

stuck in Paris, says that her character "if she is a strong, powerful woman at work, in her private life she is unable to manage her difficult situation: her husband is violent, aggressive, but Sara does not report him. ".

The director of Rai1 Stefano Coletta defines I will seek you "an unpublished fiction for the channel. Of this series I was struck not only by the directorial level of the highest level, but above all by the writing: it is the story of a pain against nature. The interpretation by Gassmann is of great maturity.

Normality is told without any superstructure ".

Producer Verdiana Bixio notes: "We have always done long series, from Tutti crazy for love and A doctor in the family. We have always described great families and feelings, treated with delicacy. This time we take a step forward. We tell the harsh reality. ". Then he would like to thank, like Coletta and Tavarelli, the former director of Rai Fiction Eleonora Andreatta: I will seek you has had a long gestation, "but it was she who bet and strongly want this series that tears your skin"
