In Hamburg, several boat halls were destroyed in a major fire in a residential area on Friday evening.
As the "Hamburger Abendblatt" and the NDR reported, the fire broke out in a boatyard on the Goldbek Canal in the Winterhude district.
The cause has not yet been clarified.
A large cloud of smoke and meter-high flames could therefore be seen in large parts of the city.
The fire brigade announced that 130 emergency services had been on site.
They could have prevented residential buildings from catching fire.
The mission lasted until Saturday morning.
Residents were asked to keep windows and doors closed.
Well more than 100 emergency calls were received in the rescue control center, it said.
According to the information, the flames destroyed numerous pressure vessels, which is why a loud bang could be heard over and over again.
Sports boats made of wood and plastic burned in the halls.
People weren't hurt.
The amount of the damage is not yet known.
