90% of the people who occupy the land of more than one hundred hectares in the Buenos Aires town of Guernica, President Perón's party,

are unemployed

who could not afford to pay a rent, while fifty of them are women in a situation of gender violence.

The data comes from the census carried out by the Government of the Province of Buenos Aires, within the framework of the Comprehensive Intervention Plan, requested by the Judge of Guarantees of La Plata based in the town of Cañuelas, Martín Rizzo, to address the eviction which must be done on October 1 or, additionally, on the 2nd and 5th of that month.

In this framework, the Coordination Table - made up of the Ministries of Community Development, Security, Justice and Human Rights;

the Undersecretariat of Community Habitat, the Undersecretary of Social Policies and the Childhood and Adolescence bodies, the Ombudsman's Office of the province and the National University of La Plata - is working against the clock to achieve the

vacating of the property next Thursday

The idea is to locate the occupants in the same districts where they come from, although the majority, upon contacting the officials, declared their domicile in President Perón's party and not have a permanent job, "except for sporadic trades."

The occupants make up a Dialogue Table, in which the Movement of Latin American Unity for Social Change, the Front of Organizations in Struggle (FOL), Víctor Choque, Polo Obrero, Barrios de Pie, Darío Santillán, the Study Center participate. Legal and Social (CELS), Service of Peace and Justice (Serpaj) and the Forum for Children, among other organizations.

They were scheduled to meet with the Minister of Community Development, Andrés Larroque on the Friday that passed, but it

was postponed until next Monday

.

To address the situation, the Government of Axel Kicillof carried out a census, in which 2,127 "physical facts" were identified - aerially -;

that is to say, small constructions, in plots, with different levels of precariousness built by the occupants.

Because there is no fixed number of people in each construction, the census could not determine a total number of occupants of the property, but 1,904 family groups or single adults were surveyed, and 440 parcels that had been demarcated during the taking were uninhabited .

The occupants are installed in precarious boxes armed with wood and enclosed in plots delimited with wires or tapes.

The 1,904 groups surveyed declared

2,797 boys, girls and adolescents

and the census revealed that the situation of habitability in occupations is dynamic;

in other words, the number of people in the shot is not present all the time or simultaneously.

The numbers showed that

there are 1,309 families with children or adolescents,

307 single adults and 288 remaining cases that correspond to another type of constitution (more than two adults without minors, couples without children, etc.).

Regarding the employment situation, the adults answered that

1,859 are unemployed, 494 employed, 271 with informal work

and another 20 are retired, retired or have some type of disability.

Regarding the reasons why they occupied the property, 1,810 people responded to the requisition, of which 1,544 alleged

"unemployment, impoverishment and inability to pay rent",

183 argued family conflicts, 51 gender violence and 32 street situation.

Meanwhile, 1904 people were surveyed about their origin:

806 (42.3%) people refused to answer

.

Of the 1,098 people (57.7%) who responded, some 840 (76.5%) declared that they belonged to

President Perón

, and 258 (23.5%) came from different parties in Greater Buenos Aires.

For his part, Larroque maintains contact with the judge in the case, who was asked to negotiate

"an exit without violence"

from the property that is claimed by a public limited company and that, according to those who took it, has been

abandoned "for 40 years"

.

At the same time, the Provincial Security Ministry has about 500 police officers available to carry out the unemployment operation and comply with the provisions of the Justice, which recommended to the prosecutor Juan Cruz Condomí Alcorta to carry out the eviction "with the greatest care for the integrity of the persons occupying the property and assets "and resorting to" the use of force in the event that it is indispensable and to the least possible extent. "

"The presence of the medical assistance service, ambulance, hospitalization and / or transfer of people and others that are required must be necessary", it was advised and ordered that also "the intervening advisor for minors and the disabled must be notified, as well as to all those provincial organizations whose presence is considered necessary, in particular those in charge of activating protocols related to the pandemic derived from Covid-19 ", they reported.

"The families are still there. At night some stay to sleep, others do not, there are more people during the day, and an attempt will be made to relocate them,"

the mayor of President Perón, Blanca Cantero,

told

Telam

, who considered the resolution of the judge of the case to promote the eviction.

Who also explained that "the people who were part of the taking had time to get used to the idea that they have to vacate a place."

Cantero met on Friday with mayors of the region and the ministers Larroque and Justice, Julio Alak, with whom he discussed how to evict

"without violence

Lawyer Eduardo Soares, a lawyer for La Gremial who advises the families who occupy the land, told

Télam

that the authorities "offered to register an attendance and follow-up registry until the situation is resolved."

"

People have nowhere to go

. By protocol of the Supreme Court of the province it is not possible to evict without first resolving specific issues related to the right to housing," he said.

The seizure has been taking place since last July on an area of about 100 hectares in Guernica that was originally occupied by some 2,500 families.

Judge Rizzo's resolution indicated that "once the vacant lots have occurred, they must be temporarily restored to the petitioners María Jacinta Romero, Vilma Alicia Enriquez, Andrés Ríos, and Gervasio Perez Pesado on behalf of the firm Bellaco SA ".
