Sunday 27 September 2020 is the National AIDO Day 2020 (Italian Association for the Donation of Organs, Tissues and Cells), called "

GIORNATA DEL SÌ

".

The intent is, in fact, to celebrate, and at the same time promote, that YES to the donation of organs, tissues and cells, thanks to which thousands of people every year, with transplants, return to life.

A conference is scheduled for Sunday in Milan, at the Church of San Gottardo in Corte in the Royal Palace.

The live broadcast, scheduled for 3:30 pm, will be launched from the AIDO Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/Aido.onlus/ and from the AIDO YouTube channel https: // www.youtube.com/profile?user = AIDONational.

The conference focuses on the ethical and socio-health emergency of organ donation and transplantation, in the footsteps of the significant message of Pope Francis to AIDO in the audience of April 13, 2019. A collaboration protocol will be signed between AIDO in the meantime. and AMCI (Association of Italian Catholic Doctors).

The Head of the Pastoral Health Service of the Ambrosian Archdiocese, the Rector of the University of Milan, the Director of the CNT (National Transplant Center), the Regional Transplant Coordinator of the Lombardy Region will speak alongside the President of AIDO Flavia Petrin. , the President of the Italian Bioethical Society of Catholic Doctors, eminent professors and exponents of Catholic and secular ethics and all religious traditions, the President of the IID (Italian Institute of Donation) and the Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo di Milano, which houses the 'event.

“The YES DAY is a great opportunity to reaffirm with ever more force the YES to the donation of organs, tissues and cells - says Flavia Petrin, President of AIDO -.

And in this particular year, marked by the Covid 19 health emergency, AIDO wants to restart with all the strength it has, that of its history and its widespread presence in the area.

1,400,000 people have already said yes with AIDO, but the number of consents is still dramatically insufficient to meet the request of the over 9,000 patients on the waiting list ".
