Around 50 people fought at a private party near Osnabrück, triggering a large-scale police operation.
Numerous guests at the big family celebration in Hasbergen got into an argument on Sunday morning for reasons that have not yet been clarified and then attacked each other, the police said.
The situation escalated and a wild brawl developed.
Passers-by called the police, who came with almost 50 patrol cars and ended the brawl.
Two police officers were slightly injured and one seriously injured during the operation.
How many of the celebrations suffered injuries was not yet certain.
Three men and one woman between the ages of 23 and 52 were taken into custody as the main alleged perpetrators.
They are now being investigated for resistance to law enforcement officers as well as threats and dangerous bodily harm.
In addition, proceedings were initiated on suspicion of a breach of the peace.
