Apple studies an augmented reality viewer that projects images directly into the user's retina, rather than sliding them from right to left.
The patent was unearthed from the PatentlyApple website and was registered in June of this year.
It has long been rumored that Cupertino is working on a headset that doesn't need a computer.
The system devised by Apple, according to the patent, scans the image pixel by pixel and sends it directly to the user's retinas, adapting the focus. From what the Apple suggests, the idea is to improve the depth reproduction effect, offering the feeling of being inside the scene. In 2017 Apple acquired Vrvana, a Canadian startup, known for a particular viewer called Totem.
