The first of the school competitions scheduled for 2020 finally has a starting date: on October 22 the written test for the extraordinary competition will start, which will allow the school's temporary workers to enter the role.

The winners will in fact be given a permanent contract, with effect from 1 September 2020 (for all those who will be among the places still available for the 2020/21 school year).

The competition announcement, addressed to teachers who have completed more than three years of teaching in secondary school of I and II degree, have responded in double number compared to that of the places available: 64,563 candidates will be competing for the 32,000 total places .

The written tests?

They will take place from 22 October, until about mid-November, and will be divided by common post or by support post.

At the end of the written tests of the extraordinary competition, the preselective tests of the ordinary ones will begin, aimed at precarious teachers with less than 3 years of service and with the possession of 24 credits in anthro-psycho-pedagogical disciplines and in teaching methodologies.

The written test for ordinary places

 - The subjects of each written test differ according to the competition class, but the test in any case lasts 150 minutes and for all consists of: - 5 open-ended questions that aim to evaluate the disciplinary and didactic-methodological knowledge and skills related to the teaching subjects;

- 1 English question consisting of 5 open-ended questions for comprehension of a B2 level English text, within the Common European Framework of Reference.

This type of question is therefore aimed at verifying knowledge of the foreign language.

The written tests for the foreign language competition classes will be entirely in the reference language and will be structured in the same way, including 5 open-ended questions on disciplinary and didactic-methodological knowledge and skills, which will in any case be followed by questions on the piece in the language B2 level English.

The written test for the supporting posts

The structure of the written tests also for the supporting posts remains unchanged, but it differs significantly in terms of content.

Here is what it will look like: • 5 open-ended questions on the teaching methodologies to be implemented in the various cases of disability and on the procedures relating to the scholastic inclusion of students with disabilities;

• 1 English question consisting of 5 open-ended questions for comprehension of a B2 level English text, within the Common European Framework of Reference.

This type of question is therefore aimed at verifying knowledge of the foreign language.

Calculation of the score

The minimum score to pass the written test of the extraordinary competition for the role must be equal to 56/80.

The score assigned to each question will be distributed, both for the common places and for the support ones, as follows: • Max 15 points for each question on disciplinary and didactic-methodological knowledge and skills;

• Max 5 points for the question concerning the B2 level English section.

The same criterion for assigning the score will also be applied to the written tests of the competition classes of a foreign language.

Where the extraordinary competition will take place

The venues where the written competition tests will take place will be decentralized and therefore located throughout the national territory.

Within 15 days from the start of the tests, it will be the task of the Regional School Offices to publish the locations for the tests, divided for each class of competition, within the reference Region on their website.

Anti-Covid measures In

order to allow the written tests to be carried out safely by such a large influx of people, the adoption of all the main anti-Covid measures has been prepared.

In fact, once they arrive at the indicated test venue, candidates will have to undergo temperature measurement, carried out through special thermoscanners, which must not exceed 37.5 degrees.

Those who are in quarantine or who have a body temperature above the indicated limit will not be admitted to the test (for now there is no possibility of a supplementary test).

Furthermore, the computer workstations will be sufficiently spaced from each other and candidates will finally have to wear a mask to prevent any risk of contagion.

The reasons for canceling the test

In order not to incur nasty surprises, such as the cancellation of the test, candidates must follow certain rules aimed at guaranteeing the validity of the written test.

In particular, it is absolutely forbidden: • to communicate verbally or in writing with other candidates;

• Bring papers, books, notebooks, handouts or any other reference material;

• Use smartphone, smartwatch, tablet or any device with internet connection;

• Use headsets or any other telephone transmission device.
