A club of cursing parrots has formed in a UK zoo. Laughter at the birds' behavior only reinforced them. Now the animals have to be separated to protect young visitors.

Parrots love to learn to babble.

That is quite an attraction.

It gets even more curious, however, when several parrots learn swearwords, incite each other and create a whole chat club in which people only swear and laugh.

It has now happened at Lincolnshire Wildlife Park in England.

The five African gray parrots Billy, Elsie, Eric, Jade and Tyson came to the zoo last August, reports the PA news agency.

Her special talent was soon noticed.

"We saw it very quickly," said Zoo CEO Steve Nichols, according to the PA: "We're used to parrots curse, but we've never had five at the same time."

To make matters worse, the quartet also had to go to quarantine together in a room upon arrival.

The parrots cursed and even laughed at it.

They had learned that too.

"Before you know it, it's like a working-class scenario where everyone just curses and laughs," Nichols told LincolnshireLive.

The laughter of the zoo employees also encouraged the parrots in their conversation.

There have been no complaints so far, said Nichols.

On the contrary: "When a parrot says to piss off, people are very amused."

Nonetheless, the zoo has now taken action to disband the parrot club.

Many children were expected on one weekend, which is why the birds have now been brought to different areas of the wildlife park, according to Nichols.

There they should learn natural sounds from their conspecifics.
