(ANSA) - LONDON, SEPTEMBER 29 - The publishing group cited as an injunction by Meghan Markle for violation of privacy will be able to use the biography dedicated to the dukes of Sussex 'FindingFreedom', released in bookstores in August, for its legal defense.

This is what the London High Court ruled today, where the lawsuit filed against the tabloids Daily Maile Mail on Sunday, and the holding Associated Newspapers (ANL), by the former actress wife of Harry and by the prince himself is being discussed.

The case concerns five articles that appeared in the two British newspapers in February 2019, in which excerpts of "private and confidential" letters had been taken, written by Meghan to her father Markle in August 2018. The Duchess of Sussex, 39, had denounced ANL for the dissemination of private information, the violation of the law on the protection of personal data and the failure to respect copyright.

During a hearing last week the ANL defense had asked to be able to update their memory, arguing that Meghan and Harry himself would have "collaborated" in the drafting of the biography proving in fact that they were not against strictly private matters becoming public domain .

A thesis denied by the dukes as by the authors themselves, and dismissed as a conspiratorial by the lawyers of the Sussex.

But that the judge Francesca Kayne has authorized to insert in the defensive lines (except for an appeal in the Appeal that a lawyer of the dukes has already announced that he wants to present), leaving a potential arrow more for the pleadings, without specifying that the question will have no value if the in support of the argument will prove to be "weak" in practice.

Kayne also noted that, filing a complaint, Meghan "knew she was going to meet" a court case.
