It is not an easy task to correctly assess people in an interview * right away.

eyebrows can be used to infer a lot about the personality

- and whether there may even be a personality disorder.

Bushy eyebrows as a sign of narcissism?

Although people with a

narcissistic personality disorder

usually appear charming and warm at first, those around them soon experience the negative behaviors.

Previous research has shown that many people can judge other people's narcissism by their looks.

However, the study “Eyebrows cue grandiose narcissism” by Miranda Giacomin and Nicholas O. Rule claims to have found that narcissism can be inferred from the fullness and texture of the eyebrows.

The study was published in April 2018 in the scientific journal "Journal of Personality".

According to the study, people can accurately judge the narcissism of others.

This depends on various factors, such as how they behave, what they say, and how they dress.

And also how their faces are made, especially the eyebrows.

For the study, the researchers initially took photos with neutral facial expressions of 39 students at the University of Toronto.

The 39 subjects then took a standardized personality test for narcissism.

This should classify on which scale of narcissistic traits they were to be classified.

They were asked for their consent to certain statements -

  • “If I ruled the world, it would be a better place” or

  • "I find it easy to manipulate people"

Next, the researchers had 28 other volunteers view the photos and rate the people depicted on them on a scale from one (not at all narcissistic) to eight (extremely narcissistic).

"We essentially carried out a long

series of experiments
