The position of the Ministry of Health states that it is possible in principle to end the period of isolation for those who have been near Corona carriers • The condition: a Corona test will confirm that the isolator is indeed negative for the virus

The Ministry of Health agrees to shorten the isolation period for those who have been near Corona carriers, if a Corona test confirms that they are free of the virus.

This became clear last night (Wednesday) during the discussion of the Ministerial Committee on the Issue of GSS Locations.

According to the position presented at the hearing by senior officials of the Ministry of Health, it is possible in principle to end the isolation period after ten days, provided that the corona test confirms that the isolator is indeed negative for the virus.

However, it became clear at the hearing that in the current situation where the extent of the morbidity is so great, it is not actually possible to assign tests to isolates.

The daily number of tests still stands at about 50,000, but all of them are referred to those suspected of carrying Corona, due to the high incidence of the disease in the country.

Only when there is a decrease in the incidence of morbidity in the country will it be possible to refer isolates to be tested after ten days.

In addition, an increase in the number of tests is expected in the coming days, which will also make it possible to refer isolates for tests.

The chairman of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, MK Zvi Hauser, said: "The government must include shortening the isolation period for those who come into contact with a verified patient as part of the quarantine plan. Last week, more than 230,000 civilians went into solitary confinement. Injures more than necessary in the Israeli economy, households and public trust.

"A few weeks ago, I asked the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Defense and the Corona Cabinet to examine the possibility of shortening the isolation days by two days after an examination on the 9th day and given a negative result. I also demanded a review of the isolation policy in other countries such as Switzerland, Austria and "It is customary to put civilians who have come into contact with a verified patient for only about 10 days of isolation," he added.

The Ministry of Health stated in response that "many issues are discussed, and if a decision is made, any decision, it will be made public in an orderly manner as is customary."
