The celebrity chef Attila Hildmann was attacked and slightly injured in front of his restaurant in Berlin-Charlottenburg.
That is what the police said.
A suspect at the age of 31 escaped initially and was arrested a little later.
The "Bild" newspaper had previously reported on it.
According to the police, the 31-year-old is said to have kicked Hildmann in front of his restaurant in Schillerstrasse on Wednesday evening at around 9:30 p.m., hit him and threw objects at him.
Alcohol test on suspect showed 1.5 per mille
Hildmann was slightly injured in the head and leg.
According to the police, both men reported each other.
When he was arrested, the attacker resisted and insulted officials, said a police spokeswoman.
A breath alcohol test showed 1.5 per thousand.
The suspect is now at large.
He is being investigated for resistance to law enforcement officers and dangerous bodily harm.
Hildmann became known as the author of vegan cookbooks.
In the course of the corona pandemic, he repeatedly attracted attention with expressions of conspiracy ideology.
He claims, for example, that elites are working on a new world order.
In the past, he was taken away by the police on the sidelines of demonstrations.
