(ANSA) - PIACENZA, 03 OCT - A bridge on state road 45, in Alta Valtrebbia in Piacentino, collapsed today around 3pm.
This is the Ponte Lenzino, between the towns of Marsaglia and Ottone, in the municipality of Cortebrugnatella, about 80 kilometers from Piacenza.
There aren't any injuries.
The state road that connects Piacenza to Genoa is closed.
The bridge has been in disrepair for years - at the beginning of the year it was the subject of partial safety works - and its collapse could have been the flood of the Trebbia torrent, particularly violent in these hours.
Three municipalities - Ottone, Zerba and Cerignale - can only be reached from the Ligurian side.
On the collapsed bridge, every weekend usually thousands of motorcycles pass by because the Trebbia Valley, when the weather is good, is very popular for excursions and lovers of two wheels.
Anas has launched a technical investigation to investigate the causes of the failure.
The technicians are on site for investigations.
The road is closed in Corte Brugnatella (from kilometer 78.210 to 78.285).
Traffic is diverted to the Montascolo bridge and to the Organasco bridge.
