(ANSA) - ASSISI (PERUGIA), 03 OCT - Pope Francis, coming from Spello where this morning he visited the monastery of the Poor Clares of Vallegloria, staying there for lunch, arrived by car in Assisi, directly on the square of the lower Basilica of San Francesco, in which crypt, near the tomb of the saint, will celebrate mass and will sign his third encyclical, the "Brothers all".
Upon his arrival, before entering the lower Basilica, the Pope was greeted by the bishop of Assisi-Nocera Umbra-GualdoTadino, Msgr. Domenico Sorrentino, by the pontifical delegate for the Franciscan basilicas of Assisi, cardinal Agostino Vallini, and by the custodian of the Sacred Convent, Father Mauro Gambetti.
Crossing the lower square of San Francesco by car, the Pope greeted the waiting faithful from the car. (HANDLE).
