(ANSA) - TOKYO, OCTOBER 5 - The Tokyo Stock Exchange starts the first session of the week positively, after encouraging signals arrive from Washington on the state of health of American President Donald Trump suffering from coronavirus.

The Nikkei benchmark index marks an increase of 1.05% to 23,270.93, adding 241 points.

On the exchange rate front, the yen remains stable against the dollar at 105.50 and 123.60 against the euro.
