The historic Ghazanchetsots Cathedral, in the city of Shusha, was bombed by Azerbaijani forces in the ongoing conflict over the Nagorno-Karabakh region.
This was stated by an Armenian military spokesman, quoted by RT.
According to the latest information available, the cathedral was hit twice and in the course of the latest attack - writes the AFP - a Russian journalist was injured.
"Russian and local journalists were wounded in the second bombing," the Armenian government tweeted, adding that one of the journalists had undergone surgery.
The Azerbaijani Defense Ministry denied responsibility for the bombing.
