Covid: infections still rise, 4,458 and 22 deaths

(ANSA) - ROME, OCT 08 - New surge in coronavirus infections in Italy.

In the last 24 hours, the positives have increased by 4,458 with 22 deaths.

This can be learned from the data released by the Ministry of Health that record a new record of swabs made.

In the last 24 hours there were 128,098, almost three thousand more than yesterday when there were 125,314.


   The number of infected people, including victims and healed, thus rises to 338,398.

Of the 65,952 currently positive, 358 are in intensive care (+21 compared to yesterday), 3,925 hospitalized with symptoms (+143) and 61,669 in home isolation (+3,212).

The discharged and healed are a total of 236,363 with an increase of 1,060.


    With 4,458 more cases of covid infections in one day, Italy returned to the level of the April peaks: on April 3, in fact, there were 4,584 cases, the next day they reached the top of the month with 4.805 and then gradually decreased but with the peak of April 12 with 4,694 contagions. It should be emphasized, however, that in April there were still hundreds of daily deaths: on 4 April, for example, there were 681. (ANSA).
