Today, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research issued the pre-school screening trial for medical colleges in public universities for the 2020-2021 academic year.

The ministry’s announcement, of which SANA received a copy today, included the terms, conditions and dates for applying to the pre-school screening comparison (general and parallel) to one of the medical colleges (human medicine, dentistry, pharmacy) at the universities of Damascus, Aleppo, Tishreen, Al-Baath, Hama, Tartous and Euphrates University for the children of the governorates Sharqia is the children of faculty members only.

The Ministry indicated that all new students registered in the preparatory year for the academic year 2019-2020 apply to this comparison, whether they sit for preparatory year examinations, or do not progress, or have suspended their registration for one semester, as well as students who have suspended their registration for a whole year for the academic year 2018-2019 apply To this comparison, they are counted on the high school diploma only.

The ministry pointed out that submitting applications for screening preference to accredited centers in universities starts from the morning of Monday 10-12-2020 until Tuesday 10-20-2020 from nine o'clock in the morning until two thirty in the afternoon, with the exception of Friday and Saturday.

The ministry called on students to abide by writing down at least 10 wishes and up to the number available to them in the preference card, for all kinds of preferences, and at least 3 wishes for those registered on seats in the eastern governorates.

According to the announcement, the differentiation between students is done according to the final differential rate of sorting, and in the event that the differential rate of students is equal at the minimum for admission, the high school diploma score is seen and the status of the student whose desires were rejected in the preference card is not equal, and in this case he has the right to change his enrollment to a college other than colleges The medical certificate, regardless of his results in the preparatory year, according to the conditions for changing the registration.

According to the announcement, the student accepted by the result of the screening comparison is not entitled to change his desire within the medical specialties after the results of this comparison are issued, whatever the reasons, and he has the right in the year following the screening to change his registration to one of the medical specialties if he is aware of the admission rate in the year of admission and the year of changing the registration or changing his registration To a college other than medical colleges according to the conditions for changing enrollment.

The Ministry affirmed that no student will be assigned to one of the medical colleges in universities if he has not submitted to this comparison, and he is entitled in this case to change his registration to a college other than medical colleges according to the conditions for changing enrollment.

It is noteworthy that the preparatory year for faculties of medicine, dentistry and pharmacy was adopted as a second criterion for university admission to be added to the high school diploma rate in the 2015-2016 academic year so that it became a standardized and automatic central examination for each semester according to what was approved by the Higher Education Council and is considered one of the student’s academic years.
