Seeing in the Corona era a film about Roquefort that contains quite a few excerpts from their performances, is one of the sucks things there is.

As someone who has walked without a few shows, this feeling of the Barbie being full, crowded and the audience singing, is a longing for a routine that is unknown when she will return and what she will look like.

Gad Eisen, the creator of "The Time Machine", takes us on an emotional musical journey through time with one of the most important bands that have performed in Israel.

From the present he jumps to the beginning of the band's journey in Holon ("Holon is like Liverpool") in the late 80's.

From there to the first album which was pretty bland, through the breakthrough that came on the second album with Mark Lazar joining the band.

From "The Man Who Saw It All" to Rockfor had a sound of its own - old school rock with psychedelic touches that correspond with the Beatles - something that has not yet been heard here, and was identified with the band.

There came the big break and the performances, but in the country there was depression after Rabin's assassination and they dreamed of the big stages.

When they wrote and sang in English, they received disparaging reviews in the country, but in England they actually succeeded (there was someone who said they were better than Radiohead, no less), and they were soon signed to an American label and went on a big US tour.

Roquefort's story is largely the story of vocalist Eli Lulai.

Lulai is a great talent, and for years he stood at the front and felt he was carrying all the responsibility on his shoulders.

He suffers from stage fright, anxiety, depression, and testifies to himself already in the opening that he has a tendency to suicide.

All these he tried for years to calm down with alcohol in large quantities, which destroyed him.

The film reflects his difficulties along the way, and his coping after parting from the band and reunion, which brought with it performances and anxieties again.

"The Time Machine" distills into a rockish and dark capsule what Rockfor was and who was and still is Eli Lulai.

It seems that the creator Eisen would have wanted a different ending to his docu, so there was an attempt to end it with a sweet taste of victory, but if one listens carefully to Lulai one realizes that the demons are still there.

"Time Machine" is a must-see movie for the band's fans, but not just for them.

It has a lot of material filmed behind the scenes over the years, and in the perspective of time sensitively illuminates the complexity of a person, that the work is his life and he can not with or without it.
