AC / DC, electrical return

Do we necessarily have to reinvent ourselves to last?

For AC / DC the answer is no.

After five years of hardship - marked by the death of guitarist Malcolm Young - hard-core veterans are back with the recipe that made their success, a distorted blues supported by an implacable rhythm.

Shot in the dark

, the first single from the

Power Up

album

, announced for November 13, is no exception to the rule imposing the sound signature of the group from the first bar.

Secretly recorded in a Vancouver studio,

Power Up

has seen its release postponed for several months because of the pandemic.

Led by Angus Young, 65, the indefatigable quintet looks set to prove once time has no hold on them.

It remains to be seen if a world tour will follow the release of the disc.

NB

13 Organized, “it's Marseille baby”

“In Marseille, they sell hash and chloroquine”.

And maybe the album from the end of the year.

At Jul's initiative, fifty rappers from the Marseille city have come together under the protection of Notre-Dame de la Garde to produce a compilation tinted with blue and white.

From today famous Sch, Naps and Soso Maness to the oldest members of IAM, Psy4 de la Rime, the Fonky Family or even Keny Arkana and l'Algérino, all have agreed to give voice to at least the one of the thirteen titles of the project.

Daily from the northern districts, love of the city and its cosmopolitanism, not to mention the inevitable references to OM, everything goes there.

After the immense summer success of

Bande Organisée

, the first single from the record that became the best-selling French single of all time in barely a month, the records will no doubt continue to fall.

TR

Koki Nakano, piano-dance duo

Two bodies draped in red dance in the Negev Desert, Israel.

Entwined, separated, their footsteps follow the distinguished paths of Koki Nakano.

The Japanese pianist shows off his refined melodic landscapes in a fourth clip from his

Pre-choreographed

album

.

He explains that he "

always has images of body movements when [he] composes."

In

Faire le poirier,

Koki Nakano sketches variations around an obsessive motif of luminous melancholy, blurred by a few discreet electronic effects.

Classically trained, Koki Nakano knows how to give a contemporary texture to his graceful touch.

His first solo album reveals a poetic narration, both stripped down and always in motion.

The clip is by Benjamin Seroussi and the choreography is performed by Imre Van Obstal and Ben Green.

Bebe Rexha feat Doja Cat, controlled jealousy

After a successful first album, the revelation Bebe Rexha returns with a new single in collaboration with Doja Cat, also a young singer.

In

Baby, I'm jealous

, the two artists obviously evoke jealousy but also guilt and remorse vis-à-vis these feelings, whether physical or moral, very recurring themes for the singer.

The music effectively combines disco, trap and electro sounds, all masterfully led by the suave voice of Bebe Rexha.

Doja Cat brings a touch more trap in his verse even if we surprise his compatriot to do the same, a welcome novelty.

A feminist title therefore, in line with Bebe Rexha's discography, and with an uninhibited clip.

Our two singers travel through time, from London in 1969 to Eden through the 19th century, while exploring the relationships between men and women.

The clip assumes its outrageous superficiality without being free.

MF

Delgres, back with fanfare

The Creole hard blues group returns with the same band namely Pascal Danae, Baptiste Brondy and Rafgee.

Entitled

4 Ed Maten

(4 am), Delgres' new sound strikes with its very country melody.

Inspired by the personal story of Pascal Danae's father, the text in Creole is a tribute to popular workers who get up early to survive and feed their families.

The superb clip is shot in the Grand Port Maritime du Havre in an astonishing lounge atmosphere with international influence.

MF

Sifax, bitumen flow

Summer and winter, he never takes off his black gloves.

Signed by Affranchis Music, Sifax follows the first batch of artists revealed by Sofiane Zermami's label.

La Mentale

, his first album, also includes collaborations with the now famous Soolking and Heuss L'Enfoiré, both highlighted by Fianso in their time.

Among others noticed on the freestyle show "Rentre dans le cercle" on YouTube, Sifax raps the street and claims it.

In 2018, he had been part of the

93 Empire

project

instigated by Fianso, which brought together many rappers from Seine Saint-Denis.

Originally from the city of l'Abreuvoir in Bobigny, he made it his start-of-song gimmick as well as a title:

“Boboch l'Abreu”

.

Dayna Stephens and the New York elite

This quartet is a good illustration of one of the challenges - sometimes misunderstood - of jazz: building a narrow collective expression made up of strong individualities.

Happy news, saxophonist Dayna Stephens, whose fame does not yet equal talent, is not used to being in bad company.

For this concert recorded in the New York temple of jazz that is the Village Vanguard (Bill Evans, John Coltrane) since 1935, Dayna Stephens surrounded herself with first-hand musicians: Aaron Parks (piano), Ben Street (double bass ) and Greg Hutchinson (drums).

These are the last two that we hear the most in

Tarifa, a

very engaging composition by Dayna Stephens held in tension by a nervous ostinato and syncopated on the bass.

Dayna Stephens, equipped with her soprano, and Greg Hutchinson, embarked on a particularly enjoyable game on the drums, spin around, revealing all their agility and their science of interaction.

The album

Right now!

was released on October 2 and it gives desires of sacred desires of

live ...

Johnny Hallyday, American dream

Recorded in 2014 for the album

Staying Alive

,

Two Kinds of Man

had finally remained in Warner's boxes.

A forgotten title.

Revealed on the occasion of the release of a triple box set -

His American Dream

, available on October 23 - narrating the singer's last road trip in the country that has always inspired him, the title is in the blues vein- rock from the end of Taulier's career.

The clip which accompanies it places a mirror between the young Johnny Hallyday, future idol of his fellows, and his double marked by music and life almost 60 years later.

These images seem to want to show the memory of an artist, who until the twilight of his life, will have sung the music he loves.

NB

Christophe, period

A final point, but should we put one, to the work of Christophe, who died in April.

This

Ultimate

album, that's his title, brings together the singer's greatest hits, lives, duets alongside the next generation of the French scene - including Juliette Armanet and Julien Doré - and unreleased tracks.

Particularly poignant, the cover of the sublime title of his friend Alain Bashung

Alcaline,

which Christophe liked to sing on stage.

Reinterpreted as a duet with Amina,

Les Mots Bleus

takes on Arabian and electro tones.

As for the sublime flights of

Parlez-lui de moi,

they invite us to talk about the last of the Bevilacqua, tirelessly.
