Covid: Iran exceeds half a million infections

(ANSA) - TEHRAN, OCTOBER 11 - Iran has recorded a record of 251 deaths caused by the coronavirus in the last 24 hours: the spokesperson of the Ministry of Health, Sima Lari, announced it on state TV. The new figure brings total casualties in the country since the start of the pandemic to 28,544.


    At the same time, the overall toll of cases exceeded the half-million mark: 3,822 new cases were registered yesterday, for a total of 500,075.


    So far 406,389 people have recovered while 4,482 remain in intensive care. To date, 4,312,514 tests have been carried out.
