The daily number of corona tests continues to decline • After 18 people have died from the virus since midnight, the expectation is that tomorrow the 2,000 deaths from corona in Israel will be crossed

Does the closure imposed on Israel before the beginning of the Tishrei holiday give its signals?

According to data published by the Ministry of Health this evening (Sunday), the declining trend in the percentage of positive tests continues, with 8,619 corona tests performed since midnight - 514 of which were positive.

Thus, the verified rate stands at 6.5%.

However, it is important to note that this is a very low number of tests compared to previous days, when between 40,000 and 60,000 tests were performed per day.

Yesterday, for comparison, 13,409 tests were performed, of which 888 came out positive - meaning that 7.3% of the tests revealed new verifications for the corona virus.

There are currently 59,854 active patients in Israel, 1,576 of whom are hospitalized.

824 of the patients were in critical condition, and 230 were resuscitated.

The death toll in Israel from the virus stands at 1,980 after 18 people have died from it since midnight.

It is possible that the threshold of 2,000 dead will be crossed tomorrow.

1,882 health staff members are in isolation.

Since the beginning of the month, 358 people have died from the virus.

If this trend continues until the end of the month, the mortality rate for October will reach about 1,100 people - much higher than for the entire month of September, which was 644 deaths from the virus.
