In the preliminary discussion for the Corona Cabinet held today (Sunday), they dealt with the approval of the purchase of unlimited flight tickets and their realization, but the decision was postponed until tomorrow morning.

By all estimates, this should be allowed.

This is expected to expire the law that began with the entry into force of the closure, according to which anyone who purchases a plane ticket during it will not be able to exercise it.

In recent times, there have been quite a few who have opposed the law, including ministers, Knesset members and senior members of the health system.

During a visit to the airport it was seen that the departure ban was not enforced.

Many purchased plane tickets during the closure and exercised them without any inspection or audit by the authorities.

Others were afraid to break the law and stayed in the country.

During the closure, quite a few empty flights took off from Israel and with a few passengers.

The airlines suffered very heavy damages.

Israir, which issued several empty planes to bring Israelis back from Greece, reported losses of about NIS 2 million during the closure.

Rainier operated a flight with only one passenger.

Flights to London, New York and Zurich departed with individual passengers - and so did quite a few airlines that were restricted in the name of equality, as claimed by the head of public health services, Dr. Sharon Elrai-Price.

Moni Shafir, a flight attendant at Israir, said: "I flew dozens of times during the Corona period and I am not a child. There is no fear. On most flights to green countries all passengers undergo Corona tests, they wear masks - and if someone removes for a moment we wake him up immediately. We see the numbers, a very low percentage of those returning from abroad in general and from green countries in particular are contagious.

There is really no reason to worry. "

Data from the Ministry of Health show that from August 16 to the end of October, 109,664 passengers entered Israel - 47,879 of them came from green countries and 67,785 came from red countries.

A total of 337 infected people entered Israel during this period - a quarter of them from green countries and the rest from those defined as red.

Only nine infected people entered Greece, 16 from Bulgaria, 83 from Turkey and 51 from the United States.
