"I've been working on it for two years, technically speaking, it's close to my style, and I really like its panels…" A few minutes before his ascent, Léo Urban observes the tower he has chosen to climb.
After the Hotel Arts in Barcelona or more recently the Engie tower in La Défense, the sportsman decided to climb to the top of the Ariane tower in the business district.
A 152-meter-high ascent with bare hands and without protection.
Chosen for its aesthetics, the tower is also an important symbol for the climber: “It reminds me of the climbs of Alain Robert, who must have climbed it four or five times…”, he recalls.
Nicknamed the “French Spider-man”, Alain Robert is one of the pioneers of skyscraper climbing and a source of inspiration for all fans of the practice.
After a few warm-ups, Léo Urban climbed the first few meters of the skyscraper under the surprised gaze of passers-by.
An hour later, he reached the top of the tower to applause, before leaving the neighborhood, handcuffed and escorted by police.
