(ANSA) - FLORENCE, OCTOBER 12 - A high school teacher was sentenced with a shortened rite to 1 year and 8 months of imprisonment by the court of Florence, suspended sentence, on charges of sexual violence against a school student, at the time facts 17 years old.
The events that led to the trial took place in 2017 in a Florentine high school.
According to what was reported by the young woman, the 47-year-old teacher allegedly kissed her after taking her with an excuse to a secluded room of the institute, taking advantage of the fact that lessons were suspended because a student assembly was in progress.
In the investigation the teacher, defended by the lawyer Jacopo Pastorini, would have apologized for the gesture with the girl's father.
Questioned by prosecutor Ornella Galeotti, owner of the investigations, he allegedly kissed the student with his consent.
The 17-year-old, however, reported the episode first to a friend and then to a teacher, triggering the investigations against the teacher.
The man, who at the time of the events was hit by a disciplinary measure suspending his teaching, has meanwhile been transferred and currently teaches in an institute outside the province.
