According to the latest figures published on Thursday by Public Health France, 88 deaths linked to Covid-19 have been recorded in hospitals in the past 24 hours.
The number of new deaths recorded therefore falls below the threshold of 100 reached the day before.
Since the start of the epidemic, at least 33,125 people have lost their lives as a result of the disease.
219 new hospitalizations in intensive care
Among other criteria, Public Health France has recorded 30,621 contaminations with the disease since Wednesday.
The test positivity rate (proportion of positive people on all tests performed) now stands at 12.6% and continues to increase.
As of Wednesday, it stood at 12.2%.
Regarding admissions to intensive care units, one of the criteria most closely monitored by health authorities, Public Health France reports 219 new patients treated in these specialized services, in 24 hours, against 193 on Wednesday. , 226 Tuesday and 171 Monday.
335 clusters in Ehpad
There are 1,741 patients currently hospitalized in intensive care, or 77 more than the day before.
Beyond these serious cases alone, 9,584 patients are treated in hospitals due to contamination with the coronavirus.
The threshold of 10,000 hospitalizations is therefore approaching.
It has not been reached since June 18.
Finally, 1,207 new hospitalizations have been recorded in the last 24 hours, against 1,133 on Wednesday.
There remain the clusters.
On this point, Public Health France puts forward the figure of 1,586 outbreaks of contamination under investigation in the country (+ 130 in 24 hours), including 335 identified in nursing homes.
