What's new streaming this week? Here are our five TV and movie tips to keep you busy this first weekend of curfew.

As before every weekend, Le Parisien offers you a selection of fictions or documentaries not to be missed on online video platforms.

On the program, a great trial film, a series as dark as it is funny, adventures shot during confinement ...

"The Chicago Seven": a historic trial

NETFLIX.

Inspired by a true story, "The Seven of Chicago" tells the trial of seven activists who participated in the 1968 demonstration against the Vietnam War, organized on the sidelines of the Democratic convention in Chicago.

A very addicting, political trial film, where it is a question of police violence, racism, injustice ... and where the defendants oppose their defense strategy: should they try to escape prison at all costs or use this forum to promote their ideas?

With a nice cast (Sacha Baron Cohen, Michael Keaton, Eddie Redmayne, Joseph Gordon-Levitt…), Aaron Sorkin (creator of the series “A la maison blanche” and screenwriter of “Des hommes d'honneur”, “The Social Network Or "Steve Jobs") signs an inspired and very effective feature film.

EDITOR'S RATING: 4/5

“The Chicago Seven”

, by Aaron Sorkin (2020), with Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Sacha Baron Cohen, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Michael Keaton, Eddie Redmayne… 2h09

"Two Weeks To Live": a very dark humor

MYCANAL.

Comedy with black humor of which the British have the secret, "Two Weeks To Live" allows to discover Maisie Williams in a role very far from that of Arya Stark in "Game Of Thrones".

The 23-year-old actress plays Kim, a young woman who grew up on the margins of society.

After her father's murder, her mother cut her off from the outside world, raising her in a house in the Scottish forest.

Thirsting for freedom, Kim escapes and meets two brothers who, amused by his ignorance of current events, make him believe that the end of the world is approaching.

She then leads them in her quest for revenge against her father's murderer who turns into a chain of macabre events.

Despite all this darkness, the whole is resolutely funny and surprising ...

“Two Weeks To Live”

, British series by Gaby Hull (2020), with Maisie Williams, Sian Clifford… 6 episodes of 24 minutes.

"Social Distance": the first confined series

NETFLIX.

A former alcoholic who tries not to relapse when he finds himself locked up alone at home;

a nurse faced with the dilemma of going to support her overworked colleagues or staying home with her retired husband;

a scattered family organizing a Zoom meeting to decide how to celebrate their recently deceased patriarch… These stories of confinement, and many others, form the backdrop for the eight episodes of “Social Distance”, the first series shot during confinement.

Funny, moving, tragic stories, which were concocted by the team of "Orange is the new black", and quickly shot in exceptional conditions, with actors and directors all confined to their homes.

Hence the shape, with lots of screenshots.

However, the series, which called on famous actors like Mike Colter, hero of "Luke Cage", is a great surprise.

On condition of accepting the mirror effect.

We really have the impression of seeing ourselves on the screen and reliving this confinement over the episodes ...

EDITOR'S RATING: 4/5

“Social Distance”

, series by Hilary Weisman Graham and Jenji Kohan (2020), with Mike Colter, Shakira Barrera, Dylan Baker… 8 episodes from 18 to 22 minutes.

"Good kisses from the killer": a traveling serial killer

AMAZON PRIME VIDEO.

A New York policeman, whose daughter was murdered in Europe, follows in the footsteps of the killer.

He soon discovers that this is not his first murder, and that he has a very specific "signature": after each crime, he sends a postcard to journalists to warn them of the next murder.

He also ends up finding two young people, brother and sister, who narrowly escaped this enigmatic traveling assassin.

But the latter have a murky behavior… The umpteenth variation on the theme of the serial killer and personality disorder, this “Postcard killings” - a much more eloquent title in the original version - does not offer anything very original, but distills in a rather clever way a suspense that keeps the spectator in suspense.

The good surprise of the cast does not come, paradoxically, from veterans Jeffrey Dean Morgan "The Walking Dead" and Famke Janssen (the "X-Men" saga), quite smooth here, but from young Naomi Battrick, Ruairi O'Connor, amazing .

EDITOR'S RATING: 3/5

“Good kisses from the killer”

, thriller by Danis Tanovic (2020), with Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Famke Janssen, Naomi Battrick, Ruairi O'Connor… 1h40.

"The Flame": a parody of the "Bachelor"

MYCANAL.

Worn by Jonathan Cohen who is also co-director, co-writer and co-producer, “La Flamme” is a comedy that makes fun of dating shows like “The Bachelor”.

The list of those around the actor is impressive, including Géraldine Nakache, Vincent Dedienne, Adèle Exarchopoulos, Leila Bekhti, Florence Foresti, Ramzy Bedia, Pierre Niney, Angèle, Lætitia Casta, Gilles Lellouche, Orelsan… Modeled on the American version by Ben Stiller, with one elimination of a contender per episode, the pace unfortunately slows down after the 4th part.

There are still some hilarious lines.

EDITOR'S RATING: 3/5

“La Flamme”

, French series by Jonathan Cohen, Jérémie Galan, and Florent Bernard (2020), with Jonathan Cohen, Ana Girardot, Géraldine Nakache… 9 episodes of 26 minutes.
