We all know that the local fashion industry has been hit hard by the corona.

Even on days without epidemics and closures, most local designers work hard to keep their heads above water, with the desire to create and dress the Israeli audience overcoming the difficulties along the way.

The four newly launched collections prove to us once again how much talent is circulating here in the country and how important it is to support and purchase local produce.

From the colonialist collection of Ariel Toledano and the seventies dresses designed by Sabina Musayev, through key jewelry and card symbols from the Born Fromm Rock house, to the intoxicating fabrics and romance designed by Mirit Rodrig.

Mirit Rodrig

In an effort to break free from all dictates and be free from all rules, designer Mirit Rodrig began to design the Fall-Winter 2020 collection with a picture of a man with a backpack walking on a path, embroidered for one whole night.

Anyone familiar with Rodrig's designs has probably become acquainted with her fondness for working with tissues.

Apart from the collection of tissues in her possession and the fact that she is skilled in the craft, this season Mirit's production process is also supported by the work of the team of embroiderers from the Galilee who have accompanied her for years.

This time you can find unique fabrics that are combined, among other things, on fancy tulle shirts, light cotton shirts and tops from jeans.

Other pieces in the collection are a pastel yellow trench coat worn as a suit with casual and matching pants, a plaid dress in bold colors of orange / red / blue worn as a sweater over a pink button-down shirt with elements of collars and puffy sleeves.

Those addicted to white cotton dresses will find a precise and unique one with a top with perforated embroidery in an apron sweater cut.

The front of the apron, shaped in the shape of an inverted triangle, connects to a maxi skirt that she said includes the same embroidery motif, with the back exposing part of the back.

Price range:

NIS 190-1,690

available at Rothschild 1, Tel Aviv or on the website

Born from Rock

The eighth collection of the Tel Aviv jewelry label 'Born From Rock' was born following a broken key with a clover-shaped opening that Nira and Gili, the brand owners, found on the street.

The lost key led the two to focus on motifs like keys and keychains, symbols of playing cards, openings and doors.

The new collection represents a soldering between the world of fantastic card games and everyday technical elements from the developer himself.

The designs themselves combine hazy sterling silver shapes with natural pearls, shells and gemstones, which together embody feminine aesthetics on the one hand, and rough on the other, bold and refined, modern and elegant.

Ariel Toledano

After canceling the local fashion week and stopping the event season under the auspices of the Corona plague, designer Ariel Toledano, who specializes in custom-made evening wear, has decided to launch a ready-to-wear collection.

In search of a starting point for inspiration, Toledano focused on the period of the establishment of the state and the tension between the style that came with the Mizrahi man and the clothing characteristics of the Eretz Israel man.

The result: a feminine and sexy dialogue that leans on galabia dresses, fringe sayings and jeans, alongside shiny items in sometimes tailored and close-fitting cuts with elements of shell and asymmetry.

The collection presents a colonialist look with the familiar dissonance born of mixing the western suit along with oriental cues.

Price range:

NIS 360-2,370 (before 15% off), on the occasion of the launch 15% off the collection items.

Sabina Musayev

The first flower dictionary written in Paris in 1819 and the secret flower language - Floriography - formulated in its wake are a major inspiration in Sabina Musayev's new autumn-winter collection.

For the idea of flowers as a tool for conveying publicly forbidden messages, Musayev also commanded influences from the flower children of the seventies alongside the androgynous style of glam rock ensembles at the time.

So to the romantic look associated with Sabina's handwriting is added this season a tough rock 'n' roll vibe.

The new collection is rich in textiles and textures of velvet, chiffon, fleece, suede and leather (vegan), fabrics and lorex stripes, which are reflected in romantic flower patterns and retro colors of browns, pinks, beige, hamra, green and black.
