The mysterious street artist Banksy has created a new picture on a wall in the English city of Nottingham.
The black and white sprayed artwork shows a little girl playing with a bicycle tire as a hula hoop ring.
In front of it stands a demolished bicycle with only one tire attached to a lamp post.
Banksy posted a photo of it on his Instagram account.
The work had appeared on the outside wall of a barber shop in Nottingham on Tuesday and was immediately protected with clear plastic panels.
Neighbors praised the plant as an encouragement in the corona crisis: Nottingham is one of the cities in Great Britain worst affected by the pandemic.
Anonymous artist without trademark rights
Banksy repeatedly draws attention to himself with socially critical and mostly controversial motifs, which mostly come up surprisingly.
In August, for example, he financed a boat manned by volunteers to rescue refugees in the Mediterranean.
Banksy's identity is still a mystery.
It is known that he came from Bristol in south-west England and came to London in the late 1990s.
However, his anonymity also got the artist into trouble: he recently lost the trademark rights to his famous "Flower Thrower" motif, on which a masked man throws a bouquet of flowers.
In a statement by the responsible EU authority, this was justified by the fact that Banksy was keeping his identity secret and had repeatedly spoken out against copyright law in the past.
