(ANSA) - CATANZARO, 17 OCT - The notes of "Silence", sung by the master Alessandro Silvestro of the Symphonic Orchestra of the Province of Catanzaro, welcomed, this morning, the coffin of the president of the Calabria Region Jole Santellinella piazza San Francesco di Paola at the regional citadel in Catanzaro where the funeral home has been set up.
A guard of honor in full uniform of the Carabinieri, the banners of the Regional Council, of the five Provinces of Calabria and of the Metropolitan City of ReggioCalabria were present at the arrival of the coffin, the president of the Regional Council Domenico Tallini and the regional councilor at the Environment, Sergio De Caprio.
Next to the coffin, the sisters of the president, Paola and Roberta, regional councilors.
Directors, employees and even ordinary citizens are slipping in to pay a final farewell to the governor.
The chamber will remain open until 1.30pm, then the president of the Calabrian Episcopal Conference and archbishop of Catanzaro-Squillace, Msgr.
Vincenzo Bertolone, will bless the psalm of President Santelli.
Then the coffin will move towards the cemetery of Malito, the country of origin of President Santelli.
