(ANSA) - PARIS, OCT 18 - The number of people arrested as part of the investigations into Friday's beheading of a professor of history in the suburbs of Paris has risen to 11, according to what is learned from judicial sources.
The latest in custody is a person who was close to the young killer AbdoullakhAbuyezidvich Anzorov.
Several people from the 18-year-old's native Chechen family - his parents, grandfather and 17-year-old brother - but also friends and acquaintances, are among those arrested, together with the father of a student from the class of the teacher and a very active Islamist, Abdelhakim Sefrioui, who had accompanied him to the principal to protest the lecture on freedom of expression.
Today at 3 pm, in place de la Republique, Charlie Hebdo and various teachers' associations and unions met for a demonstration-tribute to the murdered professor of history, Samuel Paty.
Similar initiatives are planned in Lyon, Toulouse, Strasbourg, Nantes, Marseille, Lille and Bordeaux.
