Expo Dubai: climate and biodiversity, Italy protagonist

: it is the

"Climate and Biodiversity Week"

, scheduled to start on Monday 19 and dedicated to the themes of the protection of biodiversity and climate change as well as their important repercussions on everyday life.


    The digital event - also visible on the Expo 2020 Dubai YouTube channel - brings together experts from all over the world and offers a preview of the initiatives that will be held in twelve months in many of the more than 190 national pavilions during the thematic week dedicated to the Exhibition Universal, starting on 1 October 2021.


    On Wednesday 21 October, in the section that starts at 13:00 Italian time, our country will participate in the initiative with a space full of original contributions: Paolo Galli, full professor of Ecology at the Department of Environmental Sciences at the University of studies of Milano-Bicocca and Director of the MaRHE Center, which will analyze the international cooperation to protect the coral reef in the Maldives;

Giorgio Saccoccia, President of the Italian Space Agency (ASI) who will present PRISMA, an innovative Made in Italy satellite capable of distinguishing the chemical-physical composition of the earth's surface;

Giovanni Giuseppe Vendramin, Director of the Institute of Biosciences and BioResources (National Research Council - CNR) who will study the fundamental molecular tools for monitoring the way in which forest trees face climate change;

Angelo Riccaboni, President of the PRIMA Foundation who will analyze the challenges that climate change pose to agrifood in Italy and in all the countries bordering the Mediterranean.
