Etihad Airways, the national airline of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, this morning (Monday) made history as the first airline among the Gulf states (GCC) to land in Israel.
Although the flight landed without passengers, it arrived to take journalists and travel agents to Abu Dhabi to flood the news of the beginning of the tourist connection between Israel and the emirate capital.
Etihad's flagship aircraft, the Boeing 787 Dreamliner called "GREENLINER" due to its environmental friendliness, landed this morning at 07:30 at Ben Gurion Airport, a historic event made possible as part of Etihad's collaboration with the Israeli Maman Group.

"We are proud to present to you the hospitality tradition of our country"
As befits the class, the aircraft won the "Selna Ceremony" (spraying jets of water by firefighters) as is customary on premiere flights.
About two hours after landing in Tel Aviv, a group of seniors in the tourism and cargo industry in Israel boarded the plane, who arrived and were invited for a short visit to Abu Dhabi as guests of the company and the Ministry of Tourism of the Emirates.
The delegation took off from Ben Gurion Airport for a direct flight of three and a half hours to the international airport of the Emirates capital, where a series of meetings with local tourism representatives is planned. In addition, the plane included a 12-ton cargo of Israeli products including communications equipment, medical equipment, mirroring machines and more.
During the flight, Tony Douglas, CEO of Etihad Airways, asked to greet the passengers and said, "It is a great honor for me to host you on the plane and fly you home with us on this historic flight from Ben Gurion Airport to Abu Dhabi.
As a national airline of the UAE, we are proud to present to you the hospitality tradition of our country and pave a new path for economic partnership and historical cultural cooperation.
Today we are not only inaugurating a new flight path, but creating a deep connection between our peoples, religions and countries in order to give expression to the heritage and the common ties between us. "
