The Court of Appeal of Perugia overturned, after the annulment with postponement of the Cassation, the sentence of the Court of Appeal of Ancona which had acquitted two young South Americans accused of raping a Peruvian girl in Senigallia, with a verdict that caused a sensation because he also referred to the girl's 'masculinity' to give credit to the acquittal version of the two defendants and, on the contrary, to undermine the victim's credibility.
The first instance sentence was thus confirmed against the two, which had sentenced one to 5 years and the other to 3 years of imprisonment.
