Curfew: here is the derogatory certificate to download for travel

The Home Office released a new version of the attestation, which now includes eight valid reasons for leaving.

This document can be printed or presented digitally on a smartphone.

It is also possible to write your own certificate on plain paper using a pen, taking inspiration from the official model.

What are the valid reasons for travel during the curfew?


As during confinement, exemptions are possible to travel between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m.

In total, 8 reasons for travel are listed on the certificate:

  • Travel between home and the place of exercise of the professional activity or the place of education and training;

  • Travel for consultations and care that cannot be provided remotely and cannot be postponed or for the purchase of health products;

  • Travel for compelling family reasons, for assistance to vulnerable or precarious people or for childcare;

  • Travel for people with disabilities and their companions;

  • Travel to respond to a judicial or administrative summons;

  • Travel to participate in missions of general interest at the request of the administrative authority;

  • Travel related to transits for long distance journeys;

  • Short trips, within a maximum radius of one kilometer around the home for the needs of pets;

The certificate is valid for a trip of one hour, with the exception of a professional reason or a long distance trip.

In the case of a business trip, you will need to bring proof from your employer, in addition to the exit certificate, which must specify the reasons why the job requires an exit during curfew hours. .

The validity period of this proof is determined by the employer.

This must certify that "the movements of the following person, between his domicile and the place or places of exercise of his professional activity or during the exercise of his functions, cannot be made before 9 p.m. and / or after 6 a.m. ”.

In addition, in case of travel to get to the train station or the airport, you will need to show your tickets.

What penalties for non-compliance with the curfew?

Offenders who decide to go out between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. without a valid reason and without a certificate in areas where the curfew is declared risk a fine of 135 euros in the event of a control.

The fine will be increased to 1,500 euros in the event of a repeat offense.

Gérald Darmanin, the Minister of the Interior, also recalled that an offender is liable to a penalty of 6 months imprisonment and a fine of 3,750 euros in the event of a double recidivism, that is to say after the third time.

In addition to the traditional staff, 12,000 police and gendarmes will be mobilized each night to enforce the curfew and carry out checks.
