What was to be
a bike ride for two mothers with their children
, ended in tragedy.
A 21-year-old driver, who was drunk, killed the young women and a six-year-old girl, the daughter of one of them.
The accident that shocks Mendoza occurred on Monday night in the quiet town of Eugenio Bustos, a wine-growing town in the municipality of San Carlos, 110 kilometers from the city of Mendoza, in the Uco Valley.

The pain is unbearable.
They were healthy people and they took their lives," said Laura, a friend of the victims.
Mariana Daniela Salinas (29) and Romina Alexandra Lazcano (29) were
inseparable friends
.
On Monday, they were cycling with their children.
Mariana with a girl and a boy;
and Romina, with two girls.
The driver of a Peugeot 206 ran over the three cyclists in the group of six, because the other three were ahead.
The mothers and one of Romina's daughters, Luana Lazcano, barely 6 years old, died.
The cyclists circulated on San Martín street in front of the Anhelo de Sol neighborhood, almost in the center of Eugenio Bustos.
"They were healthy people, they went mountain biking with their children.
They waited for them at home for dinner and they never came,
" lamented the friend of the mothers who was run over.
Three other boys suffered multiple injuries and were referred to a health center for treatment.
Among them, there is another 9-year-old girl who was hospitalized, but it was dangerous.
The driver
abandoned the vehicle and fled
inside a farm, although soon after police personnel managed to arrest him at his home, located in the Tres Esquinas district.
He was identified as
Gabriel Paco (21) and
subjected to a breathalyzer test: he had
2.26 grams of alcohol per liter of blood
, four times more than the amount allowed by law
(0.5 grams).
Witnesses agree that Paco was "going at high speed" when he ran them over.
In the next few hours, the young man will be formally charged with
manslaughter
.
