(ANSA) - BARI, 20 OCT - The president of the Puglia Region Michele Emiliano sent a letter to the Ministry of Education in which he asked to "immediately adopt" flexible "forms of teaching activities in high schools" otherwise they will be implemented locally " emergency measures ". The president highlights the risk of spreading the infection due to the increase in the use of public transport in conjunction with the opening of schools. And he points out that in order to avoid harmful crowding, the conditions for a special emergency measure would exist. In the letter, Emilian explains that "in consideration of the current trend of the epidemiological situation in Puglia, the particular risk of spreading the infection and the critical situations highlighted by the Regional Health Department, related to the notable increase in the use of public transport in conjunction with the opening of schools, I would like to point out the urgency of adopting flexible forms in the organization of teaching activities, as required by the dpcm of October 18, 2020 (rescheduling of entry and exit schedules, integrated digital teaching, day-after-hours) ". "In any case, in order to avoid peaks in the use of collective public transport and harmful overcrowding - Emiliano points out - there would be objective conditions for the adoption of a specific emergency measure, if these measures were not immediately adopted by schools". The letter was sent at the end of the meeting convened today by Emiliano on the issue of public transport congestion in relation to the times of entry and exit from secondary schools, in light of the provisions contained in the new Dpcm of 18 October 2020.
