The United States officially launches an antitrust action against Google, accused of abuse of dominant position.
The action of the Department of Justice is destined to open a legal war between Washington and Silicon Valley and represents the largest antitrust action in recent decades.
Google maintains its "monopoly" by which it stifles competition and causes harm to consumers.
This was stated by the American authorities when filing an antitrust action against the company, "whose practices prevent rival companies from competing".
The Department of Justice explains that without action, an upcoming big company like Mountain View "may not emerge."
The Department of Justice's antitrust action is "deeply wrong".
Google states this.
"People use Google because they can choose to do so, not because they have to or because they can't find alternatives," the company adds.
