A 28-year-old Brazilian doctor died who was part of the group of volunteers testing the vaccine at the University of Oxford, and who is producing the AstraZeneca laboratory, the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) reported on Wednesday.
He was from the city of Rio de Janeiro and was part of the Brazilian contingent of volunteers in the development of the vaccine produced locally by the Federal Government's Fiocruz Institute.
"In relation to the death of the Oxford vaccine test volunteer, Anvisa was formally informed of this fact on October 19, 2020," the Brazilian state regulatory body reported.
Nor, until now, was the reason for the death reported.
