Sources involved in the matter told "Israel Today" that the laboratory is expected to be set up in about two weeks, provided that the Ministry of Health approves the start of the activities of the "Omega" laboratory for corona tests at Ben Gurion Airport.
The laboratory will offer two options for testing: one will provide results within 14 hours at a price of NIS 45, and the other will present the answer within four hours and the price will be NIS 135.
For comparison, Israeli tourists currently pay about NIS 300 for corona tests.
All existing laboratories will continue to offer testing services for flying abroad. This is because the tests that will allow results within 14 hours will be particularly relevant for those who live near Ben Gurion Airport. The faster and more expensive tests will allow passengers to arrive at the airport a few hours before take-off, be checked in and go abroad with a test result.
