The mayor of Pinamar, Martin Yeza, confirmed the possible collection of a
rate of 100 pesos
to all tourists who enter the district in the summer season, with the intention of adding funds to "strengthen and duplicate the health system" in the coronavirus pandemic frame.
"We calculate that to strengthen and double our health care capacity from December 15 to March 15 will require an investment of
30 million pesos,
" said the communal chief in statements to local radio Power.
In this context, Yeza said: "If 300 thousand tourists came to Pinamar, which is 10 percent of what usually comes to the district in one season, when we charge 100 pesos we would have 100 percent payment from the health system and we would
double
our
health capacity
".
Pinamar will collect the fee to strengthen the health system.

"We are evaluating asking for
100 pesos
in the face of the situation that prepaid companies do not take over and do not put a burden on Pinamar's health system," he argued.
Yeza added that "with the health affidavit system we have seen that 80 percent of the people who join the party are affiliated with one of the three best-known prepaid women in the country and the reality is that the prepaid companies are delaying the closing of an agreement to
equip
our
health system
. "
"Many of these people pay a prepaid family group between 30 and 50 thousand pesos per month and what we are asking is 100 pesos per person for their entire stay, which is practically worth a coffee," he said.
Necochea is also considering charging a tourist tax this summer.

The Buenos Aires district of Pinamar, located 351 kilometers from the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, is made up of the resorts of Cariló, Valeria del Mar, Ostende and Pinamar, so the tourist tax would also be charged in these coastal towns.
With respect to its neighbor Villa Gesell, for now it is not considering charging a fee.
In the case of Necochea, they are studying the issue, but there is no determination on the matter.

Regarding the summer season, the vice-governor of Buenos Aires, Verónica Magario, affirmed this Thursday, October 22, that "the necessary measures will be taken to
reinforce the
Buenos Aires
health system
in all tourist areas," he said.
Magario said that the government's objective is "to make the possibility of having vacations a reality for Buenos Aires residents and so that all sectors of the tourism industry can work."
"The
cities are going to take care of
us and we must take care of the cities so that they can continue working," he said and assured that "all necessary measures will be taken to strengthen the Buenos Aires health system in all tourist areas."
