In 2018 the horrific murder spree of Chris Watts who cold-bloodedly and brutally murdered his pregnant wife and two young daughters shocked the US, but that did not seem to stop him from becoming a wanted man even behind bars.

In August 2018 Watts (35) Watts strangled to death his pregnant wife Shannon at their home in Colorado.

He then drove with her body to a construction site, where he buried her in a shallow grave, then brutally murdered his two young daughters, four-year-old Bella and three-year-old Celeste, and dumped their bodies in oil tanks.

Watts, who had an affair with a woman named Nicole Kissinger, who was apparently the one who led him to the decision to murder his family, was sentenced to five life sentences without the possibility of pardon, and has since been serving his sentence in a prison in Vinskosin.

"He got a lot of letters in the beginning," a source who spoke with Watts revealed to the People website.

"A lot of the letters came from women who thought he was handsome and felt sorry for him. He had nothing better to do, so he wrote back to them. Some of them stood out in his eyes, and with them he continued to keep in touch," the source added.

When asked if those women are not shocked by the horrific crime he committed, the source said: "Believe it or not, they feel compassion."

Since the release of "American Murder: The Family from a Near Home," the documentary about the family murder for Netflix in late September, attempts to correspond with Watts have only intensified.

"Some of the letters are outrageous," another source added.

"A lot of them come from believing people who want to pray for him. Along with them also come letters from women who want to contact him and get to know him romantically. He replies to them that he has too much free time," the source added.

Watts is serving his sentence in defensive detention and is allowed to leave his cell for just one hour a day for a shower and fitness.

Sources say he has in his cell pictures of his family and holy books, and has since become a devout Christian who calls himself a "servant of God."
