(ANSA) - TOKYO, OCTOBER 26 - All Nippon Airways (Ana) is ready to announce a cut of 3,500 jobs by fiscal year 2022, to try to stem the crisis in the aviation sector caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
The first Japanese carrier - which currently employs around 46,000 employees - plans to limit its workforce as early as this year through early retirement offers and the temporary transfer of employees to other divisions within the group, while new hires will be reduced by one-fifth from 2021.
The industrial plan will be presented by the group tomorrow and will lead to a reduction in operating costs of 100 billion yen, the Japanese media anticipate, the equivalent of 810 million euros, with a 30% salary cut for about 15 thousand employees.
