In North Rhine-Westphalia, the suspensions of eight police officers for membership in an alleged right-wing extremist chat group have been lifted.
The prerequisites for a service ban are "no longer met at this point in time," said the responsible state office for training, further education and personnel matters (LAFP) of the NRW police.
The disciplinary proceedings therefore continue.
A police scandal had become known in North Rhine-Westphalia in September.
31 police officers were suspended in the case, they are said to have sent or received photos of swastikas and Hitler in chats.
According to Interior Minister Herbert Reul (CDU), at least five chat groups are involved.
Last week, a female police officer successfully sued the ban.
In the decision, the court openly criticized the work of the LAFP.
The policewoman was suspected of having received a picture with right-wing extremist ideas in a WhatsApp group called "Chat Anton".
She was suspended on September 11th.
The "specific individual case" was not taken into account, criticized the court.
It was not determined whether the policewoman had even taken note of the picture.
Figure showed parody
Furthermore, the illustration does not show Adolf Hitler, but an excerpt from the parody "Christmas with Hitler".
This was found out after a "relatively short research on the Internet".
The official's misconduct is "not outlined in a word" in the decision of the responsible state office.
The other officials suspected in the complex had received "identical notices".
The LAFP has now instructed two police authorities in North Rhine-Westphalia to lift the suspensions in eight "identical" cases.
According to the state office, a complaint against the court decision should not be filed.
